Overlooking the beautiful tree lined main street of Ballarat, The Golden City Hotel was built in 1856 and was originally named the Adelphi Hotel. With over 200 tables, we have a range of dining spaces.
The Golden City Hotel provides ice cold beer on tap along with an extensive wine list and a diverse menu certain to satisfy an intimate dinner for two or a large group gathering.
There is something for everyone with our extensive breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner menus and we can cater for dietary requirements including gluten free & vegan.
We offer two beautiful
function spaces. The Balcony Room overlooking Sturt Street from the first level and the accessible Aviary Room on the ground floor. they can cater for anything from intimate and private gatherings to large celebrations or even corporate events.

This beautiful space has been refurbished with a decor to suit small intimate weddings and the ability to have both ceremony and reception. We can also cater for large celebrations more suited for a cocktail style evening.
The Balcony
The ideal room for smaller functions. The bi-fold windows which open up onto Dawson St make this room very appealing during the warmer months. It has a bar and the capacity to hold up to 100 guests.
